SAN FRANCISCO – In support of cities that host its annual show, the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) – which represents 16,500 U.S. new car and commercial truck dealerships – has donated $50,000 to the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank to assist with the purchase of a new, refrigerated commercial truck.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to receive this generous donation,” said Paul Ash, executive director of the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. “Our trucks are the lifeline of our entire operation, and I can tell you that this new truck, courtesy of NADA, will be put into service immediately to help feed the thousands of people who rely on us for healthy meals each day.”

NADA’s $50,000 donation helped to complete the purchase of a 2019 Kenworth T370, a 24-foot fully refrigerated box truck that will be used for pickups and deliveries in the food bank’s network of 270 pantries.

“NADA has a long history of supporting local organizations in cities that host its annual show,” said NADA Chairman Wes Lutz, in remarks at the presentation ceremony held outside of the Moscone Center ahead of NADA Show 2019. “We are privileged to support your work toward a hunger-free community.”

Past NADA Show donations include:

  • 2018 (Las Vegas): NADA donated $50,000 to the Nellis Support Team, a nonprofit group that supports military families at Nellis Air Force Base, Creech Air Force Base and the Nevada Test and Training Range in southern Nevada.

  • 2017 (New Orleans): The NADA Foundation provided a $50,000 grant to the Emeril Lagasse Foundation, which supports Café Reconcile, a culinary job training program for young adults from at-risk communities.

  • 2016 (Las Vegas): NADA donated a new delivery van valued at $52,000 to Three Square Food Bank.

  • 2015 (San Francisco): The NADA Foundation provided a $50,000 grant to the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank.

NADA Show – which returns to San Francisco for the 17th time since 1949 – runs from Thursday, Jan. 24, to Sunday, Jan. 27, at the Moscone Center. The American Truck Dealers (ATD) Show runs concurrently with the NADA Show.

More than 22,000 total attendees – which includes U.S. new-car dealers and commercial-truck dealers and their managers, international dealers from 37 countries, automaker executives, exhibitor staff, allied industry professionals and media – are expected to convene in San Francisco over the four-day show.
